Beaumont— St. Thomas Aquinas Roman (STAR) Catholic Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jim McMullen as Principal of École Mother d’Youville School, which is currently under construction in the Place Chaleureuse neighbourhood of Beaumont.

Mr. McMullen is currently the Principal at Académie Saint Andre Academy in Beaumont and has served the Division as a Division Principal and as Principal of Christ the King School in Leduc. McMullen received his Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Alberta and his Master’s Degree from Royal Roads University, Victoria.

“I’m honoured and excited to be involved in welcoming STAR Catholic’s newest school to Beaumont, as we continue to see Catholic education grow in our community. Through Académie Saint Andre Academy we have developed a strong connection to our Beaumont families and that will only continue and strengthen with the addition of École Mother d’Youville School,” said McMullen.

Set to open in September 2017, École Mother d’Youville School will offer dual track French and English programming for grades 5 to 9, with a capacity of 450 students.

STAR Catholic will begin immediately its search to replace Mr. McMullen as Principal of Académie Saint Andre Academy for the 2017/2018 school year.
