To the Residents of Leduc and Parents/Guardians

The St Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Separate School Board (STAR) hereby gives public notice,
in terms of the Alberta Education Act, Section 190 and the Education Act – Petitions and Public

Notices Regulation, of its intent to purchase a property located in Leduc, which is currently a non-
school building. This acquisition will enhance our facilities to better deliver learning opportunities to

our students.
Purpose of Acquisition:
● The building will be used as offices housing staff in administration, student learning, finance,
technology, maintenance, and other supports, as well as storage, and to accommodate
future growth of the division.
● This purchase will provide the following benefits, like additional space, improved
accessibility and cost savings.
Details of the Property:
● Address: 6547 Sparrow Drive, Leduc, Alberta
● Current Use: Leased by a Financial Institution as offices
● Proposed Use: Central Office administration building

If you wish to submit a petition regarding the intended acquisition, please send it in a clearly marked
envelope addressed to the Secretary Treasurer at 4906 - 50 Avenue, Leduc, Alberta, T9E 6W9 by 4
pm, December 20, 2024. The petition must comply with the provisions of the Alberta Education Act,
Petitions and Public Notices Regulation and the STAR Board Policy 7.
Please also note that there will be a public meeting to discuss the same subject on December 12,
2024, starting at 5 pm for 1 hour. This will be a virtual meeting on zoom. If you are interested in
