General Questions
Q1: What should I tell my child about the school year?
A: You can help your child prepare for school by talking to them about some of the health measures they must follow such as wearing a mask when required, sanitizing hands before entering school, keeping a distance from others, not sharing food or personal items, and telling staff if they feel sick. You can find a parent tool kit and resources on the Government of Alberta website.
Q2: Are parents allowed in the school?
A: Parents may visit the school if needed. Schools will ask parents to self-screen for symptoms before entering the building using the Government of Alberta’s Screening Questionnaire and will keep a record of visitors. Parents and other visitors must wear a mask while at the school.
Q3: Will parents be able to volunteer at school?
A: At this time, we are limiting visitors to schools and ask that parents only enter the school for necessary educational or medical purposes.
